Have Cough, Took Antibiotic, Not Helpful. What Could Be Wrong?
Went to the dr Wednesday and was put on the Z-pak. Said my lungs sounded clear yet she could clearly see I could not breath. No temp. Have a cough that sounds like I have phlegm but nothing comes up. Taking WalTussin that has the stuff Mucinex has in it. Got a Xopenex inhaler given to me to help me breath. It does help a little. Still though, when I cough, I feel like I m movin pins and needles around in my lungs. Tomorrow s my last day of my antibiotics and I m only feeling worse. My son had pneumonia 2 weeks ago. I am a smoker of 17 years. Can t even stand to smoke. Even with insurance, I can t afford to go back to the dr! Any advice on what could be wrong?
Hello, It seems from the history that you have cough which is probably not responding to treatment. Since you are smoker for last 17 years further evaluation in the form of X rays and other investigations is required for proper evaluation and appropriate treatment accordingly. You have to consult physician before the condition becomes serious.
Thank you
