Have Cystic Fibrosis And Diabetes. Diagnosed With Genital Herpes. No Outbreaks Yet. Should I Retest?
I have cystic fibrosis and diabetes. I was diagnosed with genital type 1 herpes 8 months ago. Since then, I have not had any outbreaks, even when I became ill with fever from a kidney infection. Then had to have a kidney stone removed. On top of that, I am in the process of moving to another state, so I am really stressed. How is it possible that I have not had another outbreak? I don't take any meds for herpes either. I have done every "no no" that can bring on an outbreak but yet nothing. Which I am so thankful for! So should I get retested?
Hi and welcome to HCM. Thank you for your query. I dont think this is false positive result. Hepres is nonpredictible viral infection and it can sometimes manifest without outbreaks for many years, even decades. It depends from man to man and sometimes you cant even provoke outbreak. YOur immune system can be strong enough to keep virus in inactivated state so just be happy about this. It is better not to have problems with herpes.
Wish you good health. Regards
