Have Dark Discharge. Had Norethisterone To Delay Period. Related?
i am going away on holiday on friday and my period was due in my holiday so my doctor gave me norethisterone to take three days before it was due but i just got some dark discharge that i sometimes get before my period, if i start taking it now will it stop my period still? (also my last few periods have just been light spotting and discharge)
Hi, Thanks for the query. Yes, tablets can help in stopping the bleeding. But you need higher dosage. And also side effects like nausea, vomitings etc. can occur due to higher dose of tablets. After stopping the tablets within 3 to 4 days you can get withdrawal bleeding. So you discuss these possibilities with your doctor and follow her advice. If you think that your menstrual flow will stop before your holiday, you may not need tablets.
