Have Depression. Took Citalopram. Correct Treatment? Should I Meet Doctor?
i have been taking 40mg of citalopram for a couple of years now. my mother suffered for years with depression. she passed away recently, im dealing with divorce, her death, empty nest,mother-in-law died last week lots of stuff and i am feeling signs of my depression. i understand its not a good idea to take more than 40mg is this correct? and can a family dr prescribe depression medications?
Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.
I believe that the best course of action is to coordinate your care with a Family Doctor (who can prescribe these medications) AND you need to see a Psychologist. They can help you to deal with these complicated issues, especially the divorce and issues surrounding your mother-in-law. I hesitate to comment on dosing of anti-depressants - this should be discussed with your doctor in person.
I hope that this helps and good luck!
