Have Diabetic And A Little Elevation In The Metabolic Panel. Had Sinus, Fever And Headache Earlier. Is This A Reason For Concern?

Hi, I recently had a sinus infection with fever. I took 500mg every 4 hrs. to control headache and fever then took ibuprofen every 4 hrs. This was for a couple of days. It took quite some time before I felt well again, about 2 weeks. A couple of weeks after this episode my doctor took me off trilipix and put me on lipitor 20mg. A week later he had me do my blood workup (type 2 diabetic). Everything was pretty normal but my metabolic panel was a little elevated Sgot 28,Sgt45. Is this a reason for concern?

Hi,

Infections take time to resolve in diabetes patients. Your ongoing medicine shows that you had elevated lipid profile but your recent blood blood came out to be within range, I assume. Regarding SGOT and SGPT values there is no need to worry. These are more likely ok. You should get your liver function test done after 1 month as review.
