Have Dizziness, Headache , Weird Taste. Have Polycystic Overy Disease And Endometriosis. What To Do?
Hello i have been diagnosed with Polycystic ovary disease and endometriosis. Lately when i eat sugar i get dizzy and feel like i am going to black out. I sometimes get a weird taste in my mouth like i have been eating coins. If i get even slighlty hungry i get a really bad headache and feel faint. I am currently on a waiting list to see a specialist. Any advice would be much appreciated
Polycystic ovarian disease is commonly associated with diabetes. Due to certain defect in the function of insulin action, patients have raised blood sugars and eventually develop diabetes. It is important that you get your sugar levels done in fasting and post meal state to check your status.
Distaste in mouth could be due to the same.
Coming to dizziness , needs to be seen in detail. WE usually expect patient to feel dizzy when he /she has not eaten anything leading to low sugars. SO a feeling of blackout on eating sugars needs to be checked again with clinical examination. You might need to check your fasting state insulin levels to be able to guide further therapy.
A meeting with a endocrinolgist or a physician would be helpful.
Insulin resistance and overt Diabetes are common in PCOS.
You ought to see a Diabetologist / Endocrinologist...

Dizziness is vague term - unsteadiness. If there is definite sense of rotation, it is vertigo.
If it is from getting up from bed, it may be from postural hypo-tension.. Did you check your BP?
It can be from anaemia – what is your haemoglobin? / Has an ECG been done?
The body's balancing mechanism is in the inner ear. An ENT (Ear Nose Throat) specialist is the one to see - especially in the presence of tinnitus. They have special tests to confirm or exclude the contribution of the ear - If there are no clues, you have to be followed up by a neurologist.
Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
