Have Eczema On Hands. Why Does It Keep Flaring? Home Treatments?

I have what I think is eczema on my hands. It keeps flaring up and is sometimes okay, however right now there are oozing small white bumps and lots of cracked skin and redness. I was wondering if this could be anything to do with my diet? I m considering a water fast for 7 days to flush out my system and see if there are any changes. I also know of a product that clears it pretty well however I ve ran out at the moment. My questions are: are there any at home treatments I could use? Does exposure to the sun help? Does my diet affect my eczema? Thank you.

1. Was Eczema diagnosed by your doctor/physician or is it self labelled diagnosis? is it Contact or Occupational Eczema?
2. is there excessive scratching/rubbing as it exacerbates the symptoms?
3. cause of flare up (in hands) other than diet: abrasive soaps, detergents with chemical dyes, synthetic perfumes, deodorants, antiperspirant??
4. diet which cause release of histamine and thereby causing allergy could be one of the cause of eczema, and can be eggs, peanuts, shellfish, sea food or dairy products, food coloring, artificial sweeteners can trigger the immune system to react.
5. Eczema is triggered by STRESS and disturbed Immune System, any type of stress (physical/emotional/mental)?
6. Make sure you don't scratch excessive and continuously and keep your nails as short as possible, otherwise vicious cycle of itch-scratch-itch is triggered.

Hello, welcome to HCM,
As from the description given by you it seems to be the weeping eczema which has a good treatment in homoeopathy.
As for as diet is concerned you have been already suggested by other physicians, but still not to take much of salty, spicy food, and just observe the food item which increases the complaint and avoid it for timebeing, dont apply any medicated prepration on it. In homoeopathic treatment symptomatic as well as miasmatic treatment will be very helpful for you. Please consult a good homeopath .
Take care

Hello
weeping eczema calls for proper treatment. There are home remedies which can improve the status. Use of turmeric internally and washing with decoction of neem leaves will offer good cure. exposure to sun will make no cure for it. Yes ayurveda believes that balanced diet is must, excessive intake of sugar and salt can flare up the problem.
