Have Elevated Cholesterol, Extreme Hyperhidrosis, Taking Lisinopril

119/90 ...I am 51 white female also have elevated cholesterol and extreme hyperhidrosis . I am concerned about the 90 . I have been on lisinopril since I was 36 and really don t need that much of it anymore. every couple of days I take 10mg. I monitor it daily throughout the day. I prefer to look into natural supplements and diet. I am a grounds keeper for a 55+ community. I have started with red yeast and should see a drop in cholesterol in about 4months. I am ordering valerium, st. john s wort, astragulus and sage for the sweating and hope to see a difference within a month. and I am staying away from the barnyard food groups dairy, meat, eggs sigh and alas the happy food. Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi there,
Thanks for writing in.
I am a qualified and certified cardiologist. I read your mail with diligence. Usually the cause of high cholesterol is internal enzyme problem your modified intake will only marginally effect cholesterol and components of liver profile which you have not provided in test. Similarly, for blood pressure, take medicine regularly, if your doctor wants you to take 5 mg daily, it will be prescribed as that not 10 mg on alternate day, your heart beats for about 100,000 a day (72x24x60) and every time your blood pressure different from the other beat albeit slightly and medicines are given then it is expected that most of the time it would remain close to 120/80-85 and never above 140/90. So please take risk factors of coronary artery disease (which hypertension and dyslipidemia are) seriously, unless you want you to have heart disease. Your natural supplements and nutrition will have only marginal effect on cholesterol. I fail to understand why you want to conduct experiments on your own body? Good Luck.

With Best Wishes
