Have Enlarged Anteverted Uterus, Intramural Fibroids, Bulky Uterus, Pelvic Free Fluid. What Are The Medical Options?
hi,
i have an enlarged anteverted uterus measuring 20 x 6 x 9.7 cm., the mymetrium is heterogenous in exhotecture an dseen to contain multiple fibroids. there is a 7.4cm posterior fibroid within the lower unterine segement. ther si a 5.0cm and 4.9cm anterior intramural fibroid. there is an aterior 2.5cm subserosal fibroid. there is a 6.3cm anterior fundal fibroid. the endometrium is difficult to assess in the presence of mulitple fibroids but mesures approx 2.1cm. no focal entdometrial abnormality is seen. the left ovary is not visualized to the bulky uterus. the right overy is normal. there are no adnexal masses or pelvic free fluid.
Hello Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have multiple fibroids with bulky uterus detected on ultrasound scanning.
There is no medical treatment for Fibroid Uterus,The only treatment option is to get uterus removed (Hysterectomy) If left untreated it may lead to heavy menstrual bleeding ,prolonged menstrual period ,and severe anaemia due to prolonged and profuse uterine bleeding. Consult qualified Gynaecologist for clinical assessment and further treatment. Dr.Patil.
