I have severe crohns diease and a fistula with a seton in place. I am currently 6wks preg and have been having alot of complucations with my crohns. I am running a fever today and can barely move with alot of abdominal pain and aggravation around the seton area. I am nervous the fistula is firmed an abscess again. I called my surgeon and cant see him until next week. I dont know if i should go to the ER or not. Im miserable

hi there ,
thanks for writing to us,
I understand your position,
It is advisable to confirm your fever, abdominal pain are not due to your infected fistula and check the seton (switch) made the fistula to heel completely or not.
A seton might be tied loosely as a palliative measure to avoid septic and painful exacerbations,if there is any tightening it also causes pain.
As your condition is getting worsening it is advised to go to ER,as you wont able to get an surgeons opinion now.
let me know if you had further queries
thank you and take care
