Have Fever, Chills, Fatigue, Wet Cough, Sore Glands And Thraot. Taking Amoxicillin, Bacitracin
My daughter has fever, chills, fatigue, wet cough, sore glands and sore throat at night. She has seen a doctor who started her on amoxycilling, felt better a few days, then symptoms came back. - now on bacitracin. Same thing, felt better a few days now symptoms are back. She's frustrated, doesn't want to play guessing games as she is breastfeeding an infant. She has been exposed to haemophilus influenza A.
I would be concerned that the antibiotics she has been on are not strong enough for either H. influenza or strep, which is also a possibility. I would ask her doctor for a prescription for a cephalosporin such as cefdenir or cefixime.
Amoxicillin is not a very strong antibiotic for most infections we treat in children anymore, or even for adults. In particular Strep now is becoming more and more resistant to penicillin and therefore we use cephalosporins for this and most infections now. Bacitracin is not a good choice either and not even prescribed here in the US other than as a topical antibiotic for skin infections. I suggest she return to her doctor for another antibiotic as she is still infected I think.
it is better to use antiallergics rather than antibiotics avoid paracetamol ibuprufen calcium vitamins iron multivitamins and diet suppliments take antiallergic tab montelucast 10 mg bd syp codeine+cpm night bronchodilator syp and antacid syrups can continue 3 week and mofre add diclo as fever or pain sos lot of warm water
