Hi and thanks for the query,
Fever and high ESR means a n iflammtory reaction whicxh must be investigated. This could be infectiousm an autoimmune disease or a tumoural lesion.Blood cultures and systematic search of source of infection in this case is of utmost importance.
Blood cultures, several of them , testing for autoimmune diseases like Rheumatoid arthritis, sarcoidosis, Systemic lupus eruthematosus is important.
Th commonest cause of high platelets is usually a spleen lesion of infarction. Other diseases like primary Thrombocytosis or Vaquez s disease are possibilities.
Consulting a hematologits and internist could be helpful.
thanks and best regards,
Luchuo, MD.
