Have Growing Calcification And Spot On Ovary. What Could This Be?
I am post menopausal. my dr. found calcifications on my ovaries. she has done two more followup ultrasounds where the calcifications have grown. she now sees a bright spot on the ovary . I havent gotten an explanation as to what that could be. My sister has stage 3 ovarian cancer . So I am concerned. Any thoughts on what that bright spot could be?
Calcification on ovary could be an artifact.
But this hyper-echoic lesion is associated with complex ovarian cyst with multiple thick septations and progressively growing in size, it could suggest malignancy.
I suggest you to get a RMI(Risk of Malignancy) and CA 125 done to rule out cancer.
Hope this helps.

Dr Nilofer
