Have Heavy Bleeding, Abdominal Pain And Back Pain. No Medication Or Test Till Now. What To Do?
Hi I'm 17 years of age & I had the implant inserted into my arm about 7 months ago, my periods have been fine I have also had one this month - however the past few days I have been experiencing heavy bleeding and for a while now I've had very bad constant abdominal pain and lower back pain. The bleeding is bright red in color ranging to brown and orange with clots which is unusual as I don't usually experience them. The pain is getting a lot worse it feels like a very sore stabbing pain.
Implant can cause menstrual irregularity as a side effect. Some amount of abdominal discomfort and bloating sensation etc. are also common with that. But as you are having heavy bleeding and severe pain abdomen better to consult gynecologist once and get examined to rule out any other possible causes for it. You can go for ultrasound once to rule out structural causes. Meanwhile you can take medicines to control the bleeding and to relieve the pain with her advice.
