hello i have hyperpigmentation spots on my abdomen that started as istchy spots took steroids and itching was relieved but ive had these spots over 2 years and they have only faded a little no dr has had answer as to where they started also i have hyperpigmentation on the corners of my mouth that really bothers me ive been trying to stay out of the sun as much as possible but it sucks not being able to go to the beach its very embarrassing
Hello, Welcome to health care magic. The hyperpigmentation on your abdomen could be post inflammatory hyperpigmentation which occurs after the initial eczema subsides. You have not mentioned the previous treatment details. However, you could try lightening creams containing Kojic acid, Arbutin, mulberry and liquorice extracts, tretinoin, etc. The pigmentation around the corners of your mouth is related usually to dry skin. Use a good moisturiser and a mild topical steroid for a few days. You could also try lactic acid peels after consultation with your doctor. Hope this helped. Take care.
