Hello. I have hyperprolactinemia. My high PRL was discovered after I had my son cause I never stopped lactating although I stopped breast feeding after two months. It is on the rise since then. It was 110 when was last time tested in May. Since then I had an op to remove my "prolactinoma". It didnt help. I had Bromocriptine, Dostinex, Norprolac. It didnt help. I had 6 MRIs. It was checked also for macroprolactin, my PRL is >98% monomeric (active) prolactin. Last MRI was done in May this year by a new neuro who removed the diagnosis of Prolactinoma. He said my pituitary is fine, there is no tumour. As I said , I do not respond to meds. Where is my PRL produced ? I have seen many different doctors, no one knows...Maybe you know what causes my hyperprolactinemia? I have hypogonadism, irregular or absent menstruation, and as all those doctors I saw described it - hormonal situation completely out of balance.
