Have Indent In Fleshy Part Of Hip. What It Could Be?
I have an indent in the fleshy part of my hip (in the back). It just showed up with no explanation for it. I did not fall, wasn t hit by any thing, do not have a rash, or any bruising. My NP hasn t seen anything like it and doesn t know what it is. It is about 2 long and indented about 1/2 Can you tell me what it is.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello, Thanks for your query. The indentation on the hip is likely to be due to a fascia in the area that has displaced the fat in the area. If there is no pain then there is no need to worry as it is not suggestive of any pathology. I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care
