Have Iritis When Smoking Marijuana Is Quit. Can Marijuana Prevent Iritis?
Every time I quit smoking marijuana I get iritis. I have gotten it five times, each time after marijuana cessation. I don't want to tell my opthomologist about this since I have had tons of bloodwork with no positive results I feel I probably should. I guess my question is whether marijuana prevents iritis or if the stress of withdrawal brings it on, or of course if it is just circumstantial, but five times?
Active substance in Marijuana is Cannabis. Only effect of cannabis related to opthalmology is: lowered intraocular eye pressure (shown to be effective for treating glaucoma).
There are following possible cause of iritis after stopping cannabis, in hierarchy: -Stress and withdrawal: one of the common reason of iritis is autoimmune reactions, which increases during stress and anxiety. -Coincidental -Exacerbation of glaucoma, presenting with iritis.
It is better to tell your opthalmologist about marijuana use, so that he can help you better.
Wishing you good health and all the best.
