Have Itchy Red Bumps On Leg That Pops On Scratching. Has Bruise Around Scab. Remedy?

I have small red bumps on my legs that start off as a tiny pimple like bump. Of course I scratch it and it will pop. It then gets larger with a hole in the center and a red halo around the sore. They are not going away. It scabs over and becomes itchy throughout the day. I tried using medicated powder, it soothes the itch but that is about it. Not sure if I should go to the doctor or just leave it be. I noticed tonight that one of the first that appeared seems to have a bruise around the scab instead of the red halo. Please help.
