Have Liver Metastasis From Breast Cancer. Done Mastectomy. Taking Afinitor. Abdominal Swelling And Pain. Progressing Cancer?

I have liver mets from breast cancer. I have had a mastectomy and it came back less than one year later in my liver. I have been on almost all the chemos and am now on afinitor, which I had an allergic reaction to, so now I am on a lower dose, 5mg a day. It seems to keep the side affects at a minimal. I have no jaundice, but do have swelling in my abdomen, and some pain. Is this a sign it is progressing?

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
As you mentioned that you are taking everolimus ( afinitor).
This is a most potent and effective anti cancer drug , but having side effects as allergic reaction ( anaphylaxis) .
In my opinion take anti allergic drugs along afinitor and increase the dose ,after consultation with your treating doctor.
As metastasis is in liver from breast i.e already spreading .
Now your complaint is swelling and pain in abdomen.
In my opinion this swelling in abdomen may be ascites ( fluid accumulation in abdomen).
Consult your oncologist and get his opinion as cancer is spreading.
