Have Lower Back Pain, Migraines And Itchy Skin With Flu. Taken Amlodipine For Blood Pressure. What Maybe Wrong?

Yes, a few weeks ago out of the blue I got sick with a bad flu, I mean it was awful!! It took an entire week to feel better. I had already had my flu shot in September. Ever since then, I just cannot get anything done, meaning I have NO energy to do the everyday things I have always done...and I have always been an active person. I am getting severe migraines, there are times my skin feels itchy even though I lotion up every single day, at night I have trouble swalling sometimes, I feel very anxious, some days my chest hurts, and even though I have trouble getting out of bed or the off of the sofa lately, I cannot sleep!! I hardly have a sex drive. I don t know if there is something wrong or ??? I do suffer from lower back pain due to a L4-L5 fusion, but I am seeing a doctor for relief, I have also had depression since I was 19 years old and I am now 42, but I take an anti-depressant everyday. I am also on Amlodipine for blood pressure. And I have taken these same meds for some time and always had the energy...ever since that flu hit me, I just haven t felt the same. What should I do, what could it be?

Hi,
Sad to know your source of trouble. Can you tell me which antidepressant you are taking & what is the dose of amlodipine prescribed to you? Your current clinical picture resembles an episode of moderately severe depression. As you might be aware that any kind of stress can act as a precipitating factor for depressive episode. Hence I suggest you should contact your physician & after the necessary baseline investigations consider starting Capsule Fluoxetine or Tablet Bupropion which will take care of fatigue, low energy symptoms as well as your migraine. Good luck
