Have Lower Extremity Neuropathy, Thyroid Nodules, High Blood Pressure. Have Diabetes. Reason For Increased Levels?
For the last 8 years I have had the following: severe lower extremity neuropothy, thyroid nodules, high blood pressure since I was 19, and a messed up right rotator cuff. NOW I also have diabetes and my numbers are 130, no meds, no meter, my doctor just wants me to eat better. Couldn't my thyroid nodules be causing my 130 number? I also have a deformed right foot due to a botched surgery to get rid of a bunyun.
Hi, Most probably your neuropathy and high blood pressure could be due to thyroid nodule especially as you are/were young. Some such nodules are known to produce excessive thyroid hormones which in turn accelerate the heart rate leading to high blood pressure (Cardiothyrosis). Certainly, as your blood pressure is within normal range, drugs may not be prescribed. However, hormonal analysis will help clarify the situation and guide therapy.
