Have Lump In Gum Above Front Tooth. What Could It Be?
Hi, i have like a lump in my gum above my front tooth .. I ve been to doctors and she said its gum inflammation & I had antibiotics which cleared it & a mouthwash . I ve also been to the dentist which i was told my teeth are absolutely fine & I had xrays which came back fine as well. But its come back, Anyone know what it could be?

hi thnx for your query , i doubt whether it is caused due to recurrent gum infection [ periodontal ] . check for your blood glucose levels for diabetes which results in recurrent gum infections if you are of older age or if you are younger hormonal changes might be a cause. vist periodontist and get proper suggestion regarding oral hygiene , brushing habits etc., in case of severity of condition a flap surgery will help.

Thanks for asking the query,
It could be due to gingival infection leading to redness ,inflammation and swelling of the underlying gingiva . It can be aggravated by conditions like Diabetes , nutritional deficiencies , poor oral hygiene , hormonal changes , bleeding disorders .
Get complete mouth scaling and polishing done .
Use saline water gargles 3-4 times a day.
Use 0.2% of chlorhexidine mouthwash gargles twice daily .
Take complete course of antibiotic and analgesic.
Apply metrogyl oral ointment topically over affected area .
Get BT ,CT & blood sugar level done .

your condition is variously called a gum boil, gum fistula, or dento-alveolar abscess. This is usually the result of injury and subsequent infection to the pulp (nerve) of a tooth. Injury may be due to a physical blow to the tooth, or a cavity that is sufficiently deep to breach the central pulp. Damage to the pulp typically causes an abscess to form at the tip of the tooth root, and the pressure that develops from the accumulation of pus dissects out to the gum surface along a path of least resistance. Once the pressure is dissipated by drainage, the gum heals over the opening, and the pressure of the infection builds again, continuing the cycle of draining and healing.
Proper treatment of this type of dental infection usually involves either extraction or root canal of the affected tooth.

Systemic diseases like diabetes,epilepsy.
Vitamin deficiencies.
Take plenty of fruits as well as nutritious diet.
Get professional scaling done in every 6 months.

hello
lump in your gum may be due to some kind of infection. if your x rays are fine then this problem may be periodontal only. just get your scaling done and maintain good oral hygiene with proper brushing and mouthwash.

taking antibiotics is not enough in your case...
the cause behind it has to be removed otherwise it will recur again and again...
it can be a hyper inflammatory reaction to any local irritant present... in that case, you should go for scaling and root planing and should do warm saline rinses... after gum inflammation reduces, it will either go completely or will reduce in size... you can go for gingivoplasy afterwards...
it can be abscess... in that case you should get it drained and should get the RCT done of the tooth involved...
also get your sugar levels checked....
