Have Lump Just Behind The Scrotum. No Medication Now. What To Do For This Problem?
Hello i have had a recurring lump just behind my right scrotum. It generally comes every 2 weeks or so and grows to about the size of my pinky finger knuckle. It's quite pronounced outwards and it generally grows until it ruptures. There tends to be a decent amount of pus and after it breaks i can drain it down to about the size of a pea. within 2-3 days it is non existant until it re-grows. I have been told this is a scrotal cyst however my concern is that this happens in the exact same spot over and over. I have kept very careful track of it as it has been happening for about a year now. What is your advice?
Hello Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have what is called as Infected sebaceous cyst over scrotum. The scrotum skin is rich in sebaceous glands compared to rest of the body skin hence more prone to get sebaceous cysts over this area. Normally these cysts fade away without any treatment however they need to be treated if get infected or increase in size. Since you are getting it repeatedly you need to consult qualified general Surgeon who will excise it in Toto (Along with the sac so that it will nor recur again.) Dr.Patil.
