Have Noticed A Lump On The Right Side Of The Breast

I had a accident and i have a large bruise on my right breast. I can feel a lump. I had to have my yearly breast exam and they sent me for an ultra sound. I was told I had another word for a bruise and I can t remember what they called it. I am filling out insurance papers and I need to know what the lump was called.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms are consistent with “hematoma”. It is nothing but a collection of blood underneath the skin. It is quite common after trauma and will settle by itself.

No definite treatment is required. You can apply icepacks for faster recovery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
