Have Ovarian Cyst, Tender Belly And Sciatica. What Should Be Done To Get Relief?

I have a very tender lower belly, have an ovarian cyst , and a L5 problem and left hip and sciatica pain. This pain only came about in the lower belly after constant lifting of a 9kg baby from a lower chair four four hours on and off. Usually can live with l5 pain but this discomfort in the whole of my lower belly region is new. Thankyou

Hi,
Your symptoms are suggestive of referred pain due to sciatica; it could also be muscular spam after prolonged strain as you did. I would ask you to take absolute bed rest, pain relievers, get an opinion from the spine specialist and investigations if necessary. As you also have an ovarian cyst, you should see a gynecologist for a review and get a trans-vaginal sonogram to see if the cyst has grown in size or if there is some other reason for the pain. Also, you may need to have a urinalysis. Hope you find this answer useful. Take care.
