Have Pain On The Knee/thigh. Can't Stretch The Leg, Swelling Seen. Pain In The Mornings. Suggestions?

Hi! I have a pain over the back of my knee/thigh, that i can't stretch my leg straight & my foot palm, the right leg just next to heel its swelling not able to walk/stand probably. I feel most pain when i wake up in the morning and i lost my appetite become weaker day by day no medication till now. I was a football player once I stop playing 4 yrs back is that the problem or please any suggestion. what do I need to do!

Hi and thanks for the query,
It would be very interesting knowing exactly the cause of these symptoms. The presence or absence of fever must be noted. The speed of onset of the pain, aggravating and aggravating factors could be important to know. Also knowing whether this is the first time you are experiencing is of important.
This pain could be inflammatory due to an autoimmune or inflammatory condition, an infection causing myositis of arthritis or traumatic. Management shall depend on the exact cause and mechanism.
A complete blood count shall orient towards and infectious cause in case of raised white blood cells. raised Erythrocyte sedimentation rate is a marker of inflammation, markers of inflammation like Antinuclear antibodies and Rheumatoid factor will asked later in the course if need be.
An X ray and maybe an ultrasound of these areas to look for any lesions, fractures or fluid collections in these areas could be useful.
I strongly suggest you consult your family physician for an appropriate evaluation.
