Have Pneumobronchitis, Cough, Clogged Nose, Yellow-white Phlegm. Taking Antibiotics. Have Asthma
My husband was diagnose with pneumo bronchitis, has off and on cough, clogged nose, yellow white phlegm. He has asthma and started taking his inhaler. The doctor he saw said to stop the inhaler and was prescribed anti biotics total 10 days course. He is drinking lots and lots of water, drinking lots of soup too. He was advice to have nebulizer but he is stubborn and does not want to have it... he has dry cough... help please...
Hi, Your husband seems to probably have seasonal allergic rhinitis with Bronchial asthma with secondary infection. Ideally inhaler is the mainstay in asthma therapy. Also currently he requires antibiotics and antiallergy medications. Also nasal sprays may be required for clogged nose. If he was advised to take nebuliser, then he definitely needs inhalers. Nebulizer is generally not adviced for home therapy. You need to visit a Pulmonologist , get a full clinical evaluation and get your treatment titrated accordingly.Investigations that may be required include chest Xray, PFT(Pulmonary function test) and serum IgE levels.
