Have Post Partial Hysterectomy. Had To Leave Endo Tissue. Had To Post Op Shots. Bleeding. Sono Shows Cysts. Suggestions?
good afternoon. I am 46 years old, 1 1/2 years post partial hysterectomy (took uterus only) due to endometriosis and fibroid cysts. They had to leave endo tissue due to attachment to ovaries and other organs. Had to post op shots of 3 month doses of Lupron. Last month I bled for 4 days - Crampy/achy. Saw my gyn. She did pap and exam, ordered sono. Sono showed cysts on both ovaries and "bulky" cervex. Dr. said follow up in 3 months. Bleeding and cramping began again yesterday. Is this normal/ok?? Should I ask the dr to be more proactive/aggressive in addressing this situation? Or just accept this is how it may be until menopause? Or should I find another doctor? Thank you!!
Generally it is unusual to have bleeding after hysterectomy. Possibly some part of uterus might be left behind during surgery. As you are having pain and bleeding again, better to go for investigations like CT scan and CA125 levels in the blood. After that depending on the results you can choose whether you can wait and watch with symptomatic treatment or have to go for surgical intervention. You discuss these things with your doctor and then decide accordingly. For more details you can ask me through: http://www.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-sree-gouri-sr/63429 Take care.
