Have Rash Between Legs. Diagnosed As Jock Itch And Prescribed Econazole Cream. Rash Spread To Testicles. Suggestions?
Hi I have had a rash between my legs for about three weeks, and went to a Doc in the Box yesterday 6/21/13 and the Dr. basicly just looked at my rash and said it was Jock Itch and precribed econazole cream. I applied the cream after my shower last night and woke this morning and it has now spread to my testicles. Could the cream be to strong for the testicles, or do you think I should go back to theclinic? I made an appointment with my own Dr but can't get in until July 14th. I'm still using the cream on the Rash between my legs but applied neosporin on my testivles, is that ok to use? YYYY@YYYY
hi, thanks for writing to us. From the description it seems, you are having tinea cruris or jock itch only. it has spread to involve your testicles too. Continue using the antifungal cream prescribed to you twice in a day atleast for 7 to 10 days. if not much response is seen, contact your doctor to put you on oral antifungal too. Right now just use your topical antifungal cream, an oral antihistamine like cetirizine and wear loose cotton clothes to keep the area well ventilated. Hope that helped. Take care
