Have Rash On Arms And Inner Thighs, Had Several Steroid Treatments. Is It Eczema?
I have a rash on arms and inner thighs. I have had several steroid treatments at my physician office. As soon as I come off steroids the rash comes right back. I m beginning to think it s eczema? Do you have any idea what causes a rash on arms and inner thighs?
Hi, I can understand the concern for rash on arms and inner thighs, had several steroid treatments. You have not mentioned your age, occupation and any relevant history which could have guided us to the nearest possibility.
After reading your history it appears to be two possibilities:
1. Fungal infection: these are map like areas appearing on aforesaid areas.
2.Allergic contact dermatitis: It is due to some contact allergen. You can go for patch test to rule out the exact cause.
For the same you can meet a dermatologist who will guide you properly.
I advise you to not pinch or pop the area otherwise these areas are very prone for getting secondary infection. For time being period you can apply antifungal based cream such as clotrimazole or sertaconazole and take antihistamine tablet such as loratadine or cetrizine.
Do not try to even touch or pinch the area as can cause more aggravation of the problem.
Take care.
