Have Red Dots On Arm, Wrist, Shoulder With Ingrown Hair. Tried Exfoliating. What Can Show A Difference?

Hi, for the past couple of years I have had red dots on my arms, from my wrist all the way to my shoulders, also there are a lot of ingrown hairs it seems like that I can pop like pimples. I've tried ex-foliating the skin, applying lotion, and other things but none seem to make a difference. I'm starting to become more and more self-conscious about them and I would like to find a cure.

Hello,

These bumps can be due to folliculitis.

For folliculitis , keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap. Avoid any kind of cosmetics especially greasy cosmetic creams and if your hair has dandruff then use a good antidandruff shampoo. It can be avoided by exercising good hygiene. Topical antibiotics like Clindamycin and Neosporin which are usually available over the counter are effective.

Hope it helps.

Regards.
