Have Rheumatoid Arthritis, Swelling And Itching Of Joints, Purple Blotches. What May Be Wrong?
My doctors think I might have R.A. I haven`t got the official blood test done yet because there is an $80 fee. I have some symptoms and I`m not sure if all of them point to R.A. My joints in my hands are swollen and very itchy. They hurt to the touch and especially if I hit them off of something accidentally. My specialist asked me if I had other specific symptoms that I didn`t have or maybe notice at the time but have now: My leg indents if I lean on something hard for a while....and the other thing he asked was about my skin turning colour in cold or hot conditions...(.my feet are often cold and when I get into the bath, the bottoms of my feet have purple blotches...sometimes white.) My Grandmother has R.A also, so I`m a little worried about a biased opinion based mostly on my genes.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The symptoms that you have described are suggestive of rheumatoid arthritis. Since you have a positive family history also, it is best to get the blood test done to confirm. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
