Have Sciatic Pain From Hip To Toes, Swollen. How To Avoid This?
I've been having some lower lumbar issues, for the past few months, I was seeing a chiropractor which helped then I got to a place where I felt good for about a week well an few days later I developed terrible sciatic pain hip to toes on my left side.been dealing with the sciatic pain almost two weeks now. This past Monday my bottom started hurting, right at the top of my "crack" Thinkin it was chaffing I used vasoline four days it's progressively gotten more painful an I can hardly stand it any more. Today I realized its a bit swollen up where the pain is occurring...all this on top of the sciatic pain

Hi.Thanks for posting on HCM. Most patients with acute sciatica have a favourable prognosis but about 20%-30% have persisting problems after one or two years.Passive (bed rest) treatments have been replaced with more active treatments.Consensus is that initial treatment is conservative for about 6-8 weeks.Disc surgery may provide quicker relief of leg pain than conservative care but no clear differences have been found after one or two years. Vasoline is a lubricant and does not relieve your pain.Try using move/voveran gel, apply hot & cold bag in the local area for pain relief. Hope this helps.Meet a neurosurgeon for further advise.Hope this helps.Take care.
