Have Seasonal Allergies. Took Allegra. Now Having Palpitations. Side Effect?

Hi, I was having a severe reaction to seasonal allergies so I took an Allegra 24 at 5pm yesterday. I woke up at 6am with same allergy symptoms, so I took another Allegra 24 this morning at 6am. So I took a dosage of 360mg in 24 hours about 12 hours apart (180mg each time). I just started feeling heart palpitations and was curious if this could be because of the Allegra? I have no other side effect symptoms but occasional palpitation for last hour or so. Is this a problem?

hello

Fexofanadine is antiallergic , with a maximum dose taken in 24 hrs is 180 mg

As you have taken 360mg of fexofanadine , you already crossed its upper limit and it does cause palpitations, with fast heart rate as a side effect.

this palpitation will go away in a day or two when you decrease the dose to 180mg/24 hrs

i think you are suffering from allergic rhinitis and there are other drugs that control is completely like montelukast.

take care
