Have Severe Diarrhea. Taking Lomotil Which Helps. Had Back Surgery, Mersa. Need Strong Medicines For Diarrhea

I am 67 F, have frequent severe diarrhea that lasts 5-15 days, am unable to get to the bathroom in time and Lomotil only slows it down. Is there something else I can suggest to my physician to try that is stronger. This has gotten worse
I had back surgery in 2008 and got Mersa and had to go on the super anti- biotics. Thank you for your help.

Hi,
As you got frequent complain of having diarrhea, we should find out the reason for having frequent loose motions.
There might be chronic bacterial or amebic infection.
Lomotil is for symptomatic relief.
There is another medicine Loperamide tablet but always to be taken after your doctor's advice.
Take light diet.
Take plenty of water and electrolyte.
Ok and take care.
