Have Short Fingers With Missing Knuckles And Short Toes By Birth. What Is This Called?
I know I have a rare birth defect but always wanted to know what it was called.I have short fingers and toes with a missing knuckle on every finger. Both fingers between ring finger and pinky bent inward towards each other. Most people dont notice it but when they do they cant stop looking. Please keep name out of the blogs
Hello, i assume what you have is Brachydactyly - shortening of the fingers and toes due to unusually short bones when compared to the long bones of the body - does not present any problems for the person who has it. There are different types of brachydactyly, based on which bones that are shortened. This condition can also be a symptom of other genetic disorders - in which other conditions will be more prominent than this The shortened digits impair the use of hands and feet, there is no treatment needed for brachydactyly. If you have this condition, you might feel a little self-conscious about your shorter fingers and toes, but there is no reason to be worried about any health problems. Best wishes
