Have Spots Between The Nose And The Lip. Had Applied Vasoline. What Could Be The Reason For This?
My son has a patch of 3 red spots between his nose and lip, overnight.. Woke up this morning to him with three red or purple spots above his lip, I tried to wipe it off with wipes, and he said it burned... So I put vasoline on it and it seemed to soth it... There is no pain for him when nothing is on the lips.. But I catch him scratching at it sometimes... What is this? Is my son safe? Giving him a bath right now.. Don't know if that will help..
Hello Welcome to healthcare magic forum. Thank you for your query. I am Dr Gaurav Patel, dermatologist. I understand your concern regarding your son's skin problem. It does not look like any serious matter. It may be due to insect bite, allergic one or nevus developing. You should apply plain antibiotic cream over it. Tell him not to scratch or rub over the area. It will dry out in next 5 days. Avoid direct sun light and wind. Better to consult dermatologist if not getting well. I hope I answered your question. Wish him speedy recovery. Regards,
