Have Swelling And Tenderness In Left Labia Minora. Finished Cephalexin For UTI. Remedy?
Hello, i have swelling and tenderness in my left labia minora. I just finished taking cephalexin for a uti. It was present then but was hoping the antibiotics would help. It has not. I am planning on seeing an Obgyn next week, but wonder if I should make an earlier appt. Also, is there anything I can do before my visit? This is first time I've ever had a uti or swelling in my labia. Kindly advise! Thank you!
Hi, Thanks for the query. There is possibility of bartholin abscess. Bartholin gland lies behind the labia minora. Its duct opens in between the upper two-thirds and lower one third of labia minora. When the duct gets blocked cyst will form and when the cyst gets infected abscess will form. So you once consult gynecologist, get examined and find out the possible cause for your problem. Sitz bath can help to some extent in relieving the symptoms. For more details you can ask me through: http://www.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-sree-gouri-sr/63429 Take care.
