Have Swollen Bumps Under Bottom Lip With Puss. Sore Spot Under Chin. Happens In Summer. Reason?
Hello, this morning i woke up with 4 tiny bumps under my bottom lip.they were bleeding hut looked like hair bumps, now they have swollen together to the size of a penny almost. They are producing puss or oil like substance. Now Under my chin there Is a sore spot that something hard inside. Like a swollen gland. This has reocurred for the past 3 years at the same time of year..summer only. What do you think this could be
Hi, Thanks for writing to us. Looks like you have developed a boil below your lip and the swelling under your chin is an enlarged lymph node formed due to furuncle or boil. The lymph node will disappear once the basic infection is treated. The same can be treated by applying an oral antibiotic cream like mupirocin and if painful one may take an antiinflammatory like ibuprofen too. Also do hot water compresses over the lesion for faster resolution. Do not try to squeeze or break open the lesion as it may lead to further spread of infection. If no response is seen in three to four days then an oral antibiotic will be required too. Hope that helped. Take care
