Have Tinnitus. How To Treat It?

I have tinnitus in my right ear. It is a ticking noise that I have had for about 2 years. When it starts it can last for up to 3 or 4 weeks. But then it goes away for awhile. I have seen a ear, nose, and throat Dr. and he told me there is nothing in my ear that is causing it. He also mentioned there are 2 little mussles inside my ear that may be casuing the problem. Evidently the muscles can get aggitated and they tend to hit against each other. I m starting to really get aggravated with it. Do you have any ideas that I can try to help with the problem? Thanks

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello
What your doctor explained could be correct diagnosis if other causes are ruled out after investigations .
You should have-
Pure tone audiometry
Impedance audiometry
And if required some other tests depending upon the result of above tests which can be told by your ent specialist.
In doubt do reply
