I am 22 year old girl having type 1 diabetes since last 17 years. I use actrapid and lantus (insulin) for it as well as metformin HCL 500mg twicw a day. my cortisol level was at lower side (5.90ug/dl) so i repeated the test after having ACTH injection. Now the baseline serum cortisol is 5.70ug/dl and after 60mins it was 33.30ug/dl. Can you plz tel me that is it ok or there is some problem with my adrenal or pitutary glands. i also feel tired very easily, often feel weakness, depression, stressed and muscle pain.
After reviewing your case let me come to a brief conclusion that your problems are due to corticosteroid Harmones. Usually adRenal and pituitaRy Harmones are very organ specific when ever its values are increased or decreased in our body we will experience variety of symptoms as you mentioned. So what best you can do is to titrate the proper dosages of Harmones so that we can minimise the side effects. Visit your endocrinologist and review once.
Thanks
