Have Wheezing And Cough When Consuming Food. Under Treatment For Acid Reflux. Are The Two Conditions Interrelated?

i've had controlled acid reflux for over 10 years, but all of a sudden when i eat certain foods i began to wheeze n cough. this has been going on for over a month now. i have been taking, xanax, metoprolo, lisinopril, and prilosec for many years now, and all of my chest x rays and heart text come back negative for anything. what can be wrong with me? my doctor put me on dulera inhaler and all of my symtoms go away when i use it, but as soon as i eat the wheezing and dry cough come back.

hello,
thank you for asking this question.
In my opinion wheezing and cough may be related with some alergy you may have related with some kind of foods.

Between 50% and 90% of all severe allergic reactions to foods are caused by only eight foods. The most common food allergies are: milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, wheat, fish and shellfish.

I advice you to take the alergic tests to fing out to what food you are alergic and avoid it.

Several medications are available for treating the other symptoms of food allergy. For example, antihistamines can relieve gastrointestinal symptoms, hives, sneezing, and a runny nose. Bronchodilators can relieve the symptoms of asthma. These medications are taken after a person inadvertently has ingested a food to which he is allergic. They are not effective, however, in preventing an allergic reaction when taken prior to eating the food. In fact, no medication in any form is available to reliably prevent an allergic reaction to a certain food before eating that food.

Kind regards
