Having PCOD. Continuous Menstrual Bleeding. Taking Metformin. Treatment?

hi i am 26 years old. i am having pcod for the fast 4 yeaast 3 months onlrs. for the fmy lh level is 16. other hormones levels are normal. i am having period 3 months one time. its naturally comes. but bleeding days more than 30 days. can u give advice? bcoz i am trying to get conceive. i am taking metformin for the fast 3 months.

hi..welcome to healthcare magic..PCOD usually leads to irregular menstrual cycles. the reason for your long duration cycles and bleeding for more than a month indicates that your cycles are anovulatory, meaning to say that you are not ovulating. metformin is used in the treatment of PCOD, it helps you to reduce weight. but since you are planning to conceive, you should start taking ovulation inducing drugs like clomiphene for atleast few months under the guidance of gynaecologist. your menstrual cycles also will get corrected. Also check your thyroid profile and routine investigations done. good luck.
