Having Constant Ache In Upper Leg, Back Of The Leg. Cause?
Hi;
There is a constant ache in upper leg area, at the back and side of the right leg. It is there day and night. It just started couple weeks ago. Am not a runner, have been doing just normal exercise. Have noticed lately that it hurts to stand up after sitting for an hour or so. What may be causing this? Thank you for your reply.
The pain and discomfort seems to be coming from the hip. Unless you have had a fall that would cause muscle strain which can be significantly painful the cause of your pain is likely related to the hip joint. Pressure in the hip joint increases while getting up from sitting position due to muscle action. It would be helpful to know if you have any other complaints like fever, back pain or restriction of any specific activities.
I would suggest seeing an orthopaedic surgeon for clinical examination and for Xray of the pelvis with both hips.
Hope this is helpful. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
