Having Dry Cough With Blocked Nose, sharp Pain In My Left Chest. What Is The Medical Cure For This?
I have cough since 4-5 days which looks generally dry but when I wake up in the morning my nose is blocked from mucus and some mucus is inside my mouth or throat which I spit up during brushing teeth . Also since last night, I had a mild sharp pain in my left chest which is intermittent and mostly happens when I move or pick something. Kindly suggest medicine or solution regarding this.
You are having common cold symptoms, for which I'd suggest the following:
- drink more fluids (tea, juice, water) - that will help dilute your nose and throat mucus
- wash your throat with water and salt early in the morning
- I usually prescribe OTC herbal coughing syrups or pills to help with cough
- use 2 pillow to raise your head and shoulder when sleeping
- I also prescribe oral spray or candies to soothe the throat, thus preventing cough
- avoid smoking or getting exposed to smoking or other dust areas
- I also prescribe antiacids to help soothe the acidity of the stomach which is usual in such cases.
Hope it helped!
