Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

It does not seem reasonable or realistic to suggest some solutions - with the incomplete information given.../ You have not stated your age, gender, personal habits, family history or co-morbidities / What was the surgery?
Advice to avoid red meat is generally for uric acid or cholesterol... drug for cholesterol may be responsible?
If you could play golf and active, there may not be significant disease...Some deficiency of rare minerals, anxiety may be considered. Discuss with your doctor...

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
