Having Long Continuous Periods. Sometimes Heavy With Bright Red Blood And Sometimes Brown And Clumpy. Remedy?
Yes, my girlfriend has been on her period for an long time now with changes in the flow and amount of blood , one day she would have alittle brown clumpy and than it would get to a strong flow of straight blood. We are begining to get worried and wondering if something is wrong with her body, the total time she has been on her period now is 2 weeks i believe. Is there anything we can do to solve this problem?K
Hello, Firstly, please exclude pregnancy and an incomplete abortion. Secondly, please see a specialist to assess the clinical situation and also the more likely causes like hormone imbalance, local infections, polyps or erosions of the cervix, general infections, stress, use of certain medications. The bleeding can usually be controlled with styptics and hormone supplements if it is not related to pregnancy. Else, an evacuation is needed under proper aseptic precautions and antibiotic cover to control the bleeding. The general condition also needs to be improved. Hope this helps.
