Hi, the symptoms you are experiencing like
irregular periods, hot flashes, breast tenderness &
abdominal bloating are common menopausal symptoms. Other symptoms like fatigue, hair loss, mood swings (anxiety & depression) headache
vaginal dryness, digestive problems &
night sweats are also experienced by many women.
These symptoms are mainly due to hormonal imbalance & indicative of a reduction in Estrogen &
Progesterone levels. If the reduction is gradual then the symptoms are mild. If it is abrupt then they result in very severe symptoms.
Periods will be highly irregular - more frequent or rare, light one month & heavy the other month, delayed one month, regular cycles from next month onwards.
Abdominal bloating & flatulence occur especially after taking food rich in lactose like diary food. Mastalgia (
breast pain) can be severe, less severe, cyclical(related to menstrual cycle) or non cyclical(not related to menstrual cycle).
In case of severe vasomotor (hot flashes) & other troublesome symptoms, "
hormone replacement therapy"(transdermal patches of low concentration of Estrogen) is ideal.
But, if the breast pain is severe and persisting & the abdominal bloating is troublesome then it could be due to other causes like,
1. Mastitis (inflamation of breast).
2. Uterine Fibroids.
3. Pregnancy. As long as a woman is having ovulatory cycles ( they are mostly anovulatory in perimenopausal period) she is considered fertile & so it is still a possibility for you.
Also, the probability of cancer breast/uterus should be ruled out considering your age.
