Having Pain In Top Of Patella. Feels If A Nail Is Being Banged Into Kneecap. Any Suggestion?
I have a sharp pain directly on the top of my patella . It just to push on it and when flexing while weight bearing. I can run with no pain and walk pretty much pain free. The pain is localized to the patella and feels more bone issue than muscle . To squat, the pain begins immediately and is very sharp as if a nail was being banged into my kneecap.
if the pain is at the insertion if the muscle into the top of the knee cap then the pain could be secondary to an insertion all tendinitis. if right over the front of the knee cap then the pain could be secondary to a bursitis ( inflammation of fluid filled sack over the patella ), a loose body in the preps tells bursae, a bipartite patella ( you would require an XR to diagnose this issue )
